summer 09
Posted in family news by Tim on September 3rd, 2009 at 11:37 am.
We have had a wonderful summer this year. We have stayed busy with several camping trips and spending lots of time with family. Tim got a chance to spend three days in the Sawtooth Mountains with his friend Ben, something that he had wanted to do for some time (after being rained out on his last attempt)! We will try and get some pics in our gallery from this trip but until then you can see them on Ben’s site, www.garrisonphoto.org/grandjean
We have also been busy getting a few things finished up in preparation for our MAF training module (called Candidacy) in January.
Another great Idaho experience of the summer was our anniversary trip to the Deadwood Fire Lookout. This was a very secluded 14′ x 14′ cabin with windows all the way around. Although the road in was a little tense and very bumpy, the 360 degree view of Idaho wilderness was well worth it. We spent two days there and visited Deadwood Reservoir to do some fishing.
The day we got back from the Deadwood trip we celebrated Jacob’s 3rd birthday with his cousins and lots of friends. It’s amazing to think that we already have a 3 year old; however, it is special events like these that remind us of how lucky we are to have so much family close by. It will be difficult to leave, but it is heartening to know that we have so many loved ones here supporting us.
As for MAF news there is not much to report. We are eagerly awaiting January, when we will find out where our assignment is and get many details filled in about our future. It is also when we will officially begin building our ministry support team. I say “officially” because we have already been blessed by several people who have expressed an interest in being part of our ministry support team for the years to come. This has been an enormous encouragement to both of us during this long period of waiting over the past couple of years.
Although we will not be official with MAF until January, if you have any questions about becoming part of our ministry support team, either through prayer or financial support, please send either of us an e-mail. If you would like to get our newsletters please provide the information that is on our contact site.
Thanks for visiting,
Tim, Liz and Jacob
