The Schandorff Family

Preparing to serve with MAF in Haiti

A New Chapter

I can hardly believe it’s been almost three months since I last posted here – the holidays are past and the new year is already upon us! The primary reason that time seems to be flying in the Schandorff household is that we have been doing so much to get ready for our service with MAF.

One of the things that we accomplished during the past few months was finishing the Bible study series that MAF asked us to do. We have been working on it for two years, and it is finally completed! It felt great to print it out and hand it in to our MAF recruiter.

I mentioned in the last post that  we were looking for a home for our dog. Thanks for praying – we did find a great home for Kali with a coworker of Tim’s, who was looking for a companion for the dog she already had. Kali seems to be settling in well in her new home, which makes us happy!

Like all of you, we also spent a decent amount of time over the past few months preparing for the holidays! We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with both Tim and Liz’s families, and were grateful for such quality time with both sides of the family. We aren’t yet sure whether this will have been our last Christmas in the U.S. for awhile or not – that will likely depend on how quickly our financial and prayer support teams come together over the next few months!

Perhaps the largest preparation for service with MAF that we have made is that we  sold our house to Liz’s parents last week, and are now working on moving our final possessions out of the house and sprucing it up so that it will soon be ready to be rented out. Tim’s parents are graciously allowing us to live with them during 2010, and we have transitioned into our new routines at their house. Jacob loves being spoiled by Grandma on a daily basis and has very quickly adjusted to the move.

Our new address at Tim’s parents’ house is:

Tim & Liz Schandorff

1108 S Stanford St

Nampa ID 83686

We plan to post more frequently now that we are entering full-time service with MAF, to keep you all posted on things like what we are learning in our MAF training, what our country assignment will be, and whether or not we will be traveling in your area during 2010. Stay tuned, too, for whether or not we are expecting a boy or a girl – we find out on January 19th!
