We’ve had an amazing couple of months since we last posted.  A month ago we were still wondering where we would be assigned and how we would make it through the 4 weeks of intensive training that Mission Aviation Fellowship provides for new missionaries.  Now we are excited to announce that we have been assigned to the country of Haiti and that Tim will be serving as the Assistant Program Manager.  The decision was made that we would be going to Haiti one week after the devastating earthquake on the 12th of January.  Currently MAF has a disaster response crew in Haiti helping with the initial need.  We look forward to being able to contribute as this program and the country of Haiti rebuild.  After about a year of support raising, our family will be attending French language school in Quebec, Canada.  We have been told that there is truly a need for MAF staff who have attended French language training and Liz is especially excited about spending more time learning French since she minored in it while at Houghton College.

Currently we are spending our days working from home and visiting with friends as we build our minstry support team.  If you haven’t heard from us and would like to be added to our list or learn more about how to partner with us please visit our “partner with us” page.  For the next few days we will be trying to load a lot of work in so that Tim can take advantage of an opportunity to help with relief efforts from Florida.  He will be working for MAF from Fort Pierce FL, where Missionary Flights International is based.  MFI is a close partner to MAF in Haiti and this training will be a great chance for Tim to get acquainted with their organization.  He will be in Florida for 3 weeks and then hopefully join Liz and Jacob after they begin our trip to see family in the East.

It has been an amazing journey so far and God’s timing has been incredible.  We are looking forward to the next year as we get to spend “work” time visiting friends and family all over the country.  If you are wondering if we will be getting to your neck of the woods send us an e-mail.  If we are in your area we would love to stop by and talk with you about what God is doing in our lives and through MAF around the world.

Now that the very busy four weeks of training are behind us, we plan to update this blog more often than we have in the past.  Tim will be telling stories from Florida and we will keep everyone posted on our future travels.  Thank you for visiting and following along with us as we venture out to see what God has in store for our family.
