How You Can Help

Over the course of the next several months we will be building a team of partners who God has called to support the work that MAF is doing in Haiti.  As you read about the different needs of our minstry in Haiti, keep in mind that there are several ways that you can help.

• Could you be an advocate to your church on our behalf?
• Do you attend a small group that would be interested in hearing about the work that MAF is doing in Haiti?
• Could you organize an informal discussion over coffee with some friends who would like the opportunity to hear about missions?

All of these things would give us the opportunity to talk with more people about our ministry and speed the process so that we can get to the field quickly.

We hope to leave for language school in January of 2011, but before we do there are three types of support that MAF has asked us to raise.  Please prayerfully seek the Lord’s guidance as you read about the needs of our ministry.  We know that God has brought us this far and that in His timing we will be able to do the work that He has called us to.  If you have any questions about how you can partner with us, please e-mail us.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Prayer Support

We are looking for people who will uphold us in prayer on a regular basis.  Although excited about the opportunity to work with MAF, we understand that it will not always be easy.  It is very important to us that we have the support of friends and family who are praying for us on a daily basis.  For those who are interested in joining us in this way, please click here and provide us with your contact information.  We will send you our newsletters and let you know how you can be praying for our family.

Ongoing Financial Support

MAF requires that we raise $6,500 per month in ongoing support.  This amount covers our salary and housing as well as other expenses such as healthcare benefits, employment taxes and incidental expenses such as visas, travel during furlough etc.  By having this amount raised before leaving for the field, we will be able to do the work that God has called us to do while we are on the field without worrying about what will happen to our income from month to month.  If you have any questions about this process or are interested in being part of our ongoing support team, we’d love to hear from you.  Send us an e-mail with your contact info and any questions that we can answer for you.

One-time outgoing support

There are many costs that are associated with getting our family to Haiti for the first time.  Things like language training, visas, travel expenses and many other costs need to be covered before we can leave.  If you would like to contribute to our ministry but do not feel led to contribute on a regular basis, this is a great way to partner with us.  All contributions that are not ongoing will be put toward this outgoing fund.
